We knew she wasn't doing well, but her eye specialists told us she should be better after her eye as removed (Glaucoma & inflamation from unknown causes had left her blind in one eye.) The night before she was to go in for her operation, she had trouble rising. Our vet took an x-ray and said lung cancer. She spent a night in an oxygen tent in kitty ER. Today she could no longer breathe even in her little oxygen tent. Given no other choice, we let her go. The house seems so empty and my heart is dead. And there is this charade of normal life that I have to go through. No more complaints and commands from the Little Princess. No more hunting calls as she proudly carries her trophy stuffed animal downstairs to present to my SO. No more autumn leaf colored beauty basking in a sun spot. I wonder if those in charge of the Bridge are ready for the amount of Tortitude that they are about to get. I think it is a safe bet that some changes will be insisted upon and made (Could anyone resist that adorable face and the "lifted paw"?). Go cuddle ith your kitties. Life is short.

and no matter how much time we have with our loved ones, it's never long enough. I'm so, so sorry. My heart is breaking for you, and I wish that there was something I could do. Safe journey, Aoife. You were very well loved, even by those who never met you.

I had hoped she would be ok. I thought about your little girl often. I hope she is tormenting Teddy right now. He has always had a soft spot for Torties. She'll have him wrapped around her little claw in no time.

Aofie sounds like she was a very special and much loved little girl. Please take care of yourself, i know how hard it can be emotionally to lose one.
